A Green Initiatives
Collaboration with
Community Center Shanghai’s
River of Hearts

Last Thursday, Green Initiatives officially launched RE:FORM, a project that aims to reduce textile waste by promoting the practice of reusing and recycling. Over 170 guests attended the standing room only event that included movie screenings, a panel discussion, and speakers.

RE:FORM’s goal is to educate the public regarding textile waste while also coordinating points of collection in recycling and reusing clothing. Since 2003, Community Center Shanghai’s River of Hearts charity has been collecting, sorting, and distributing gently used clothing to communities in need, and as a Green Initiative’s key partner, will continue to provide the community easy access for recycling. Crown Relocations, another Green Initiative’s key partner, will provide logistical support for the RE:FORM project.

Community Center Shanghai’s Executive Director, Zhen Zeng-Liao states, “Community Center Shanghai is proud to be part of this social responsibility project and will encourage and engage the community to take part in recycling no-longer needed clothing for reuse.”
