5th Straight ACAMIS Win
for Girls Varsity
Basketball

SCIS Hongqiao varsity girls’ basketball team had an incredible season! The team underwent a lot of change this year, and was comprised of an eclectic mix of 9th-12th graders. The mix of ages and experience levels worked to their advantage, as the girls worked hard to bond and keep improving as a unit.

Four days after the SISAC championship, the girls were on their way to Discovery Bay, Hong Kong for the ACAMIS tournament. The level of competition was fierce, but it was only fitting that SCIS and RCHK would meet yet again in another final. SCIS held RCHK to one basket in the second half. Senior Greta Delfino was able to bury a basket with less than 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter, giving SCIS the first and only lead of the game. Game over. SCIS 20 - RCHK 19.
